This, this right here helps to restore some of my faith in humanity.

The reason for this is that I've been running World Community Grid for a while, keeping an eye on our group's stats.

What started as a competition turned out to be something truly productive, something that potentially will help people, and I'm proud of the fact that I was part of it.

Ok, fuck, I must be more tired than I thought, enough of this emotional crap, time for bed.

Mmmmm, suddenly the urge to tell all the self-righteous, self-absorbed, and quite frankly selfish assholes out there who walk up to me from across the street and cough into my face, as if their lungs would seize up and they had been diagnosed with cancer, all because I was having a cigarette. Well, suddenly I feel like telling them all to bite me.

Nicotine good for you?

Ooooooh, just found this, my hopes for a new 6 Million Dollar Man are high, and of course, that just opens the road for a bunch of new (old) shows...

Wonderwoman, Captain America, Kung-Fu, ooooh, oooh, childhood geek shock!

In the immortal words of Linda Carter in the end of Sky High,

"I give up, I can't do a thing with any of you, I'm not Wonderwoman for godsakes..."

Warhammer RPG

Recently a potential business partner invited me to take part in a new game he's running, Warhammer Fantasy (paper and dice RPG).

I've never gotten subtle character types in the past. Even when trying to tone it down I somehow always end up with the powerhitter in the group.

This time I deliberately created a character that CANNOT be a powerhitter...

A halfling noble type, who has a %95 likeability rating. He carries a small step ladder and a rose with him everywhere he goes. And yes, he does have seduction and romance as skill sets. Hehe, he's the Don Juan Baggins of the fantasy universe!

Oh, he also has a %95 agility with a specialty in foil fencing (ala noble style), and yet his strength is like in the %5-10 range.

In other words, he macks on EVERY female, they all adore him, the male characters on the other hand all hate him, but when they challenge him, he pokes them in the nuts for like 1 point of damage, and they in turn can't touch him!

hehe, I'm going to enjoy this I think.

so after the big deal about posting to my journal about posting more, the very next day I go and get myself sick. Bah. I'll try to post more later, depending on how I'm feeling (I still need to post details on the dropping a roof on the shoulder thing...).

So, I've decided to actually make this my journal, and post here random and stray thoughts, even if it's not so important.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that from here on I'll try to post once a day, anything and everything that's going down, not just the cool shiny tech stuff, or the depressing everything is falling apart stuff...

In the spirit of this, here's my post about how I've recently reinstalled and started playing Deus Ex again. I forgot how much I enjoy this game. I helped beta test for the sniper rifle mode back in '98, and really, really do enjoy how the game is put together. The fact that the storyline driven plots can change depending on your actions, and you have multiple endings is part of what I overall love about the game. And of course the fact that the skill system also effects how you play out a level, and that in turn determines how you finish out the level, which in turn determines how the plot turns out. Like I said, I rather like the way this game is designed, even if the game is buggy as hell. ;)

Well, I'm not sure if this is a hoax, or if it's completely true, if it is the truth, this is perhaps the scariest thing I've ever seen...

Keylogger hardware embedded in new dells?

If this is not a joke, then this is not my trying to be cute, if this is the facts, I'm looking into citizenship in somewhere like Amsterdam.
